Author: Willy Gardiol Gentoo installation for Asus Transformer ARM-based tablets. Tested on TF700T, sohuld work also on the TF300T. NOTE: if the screen blanks, to unblank you need to push the power button! =========================================================== Please refer to my ongoing installation Wiki at this link: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Asus_Transformer_Infinity_%28TF700T%29/Install Please keep in touch with me and help by improving Gentoo on the TF700T! =========================================================== A few suggestions and instructions: - Expand the tar into your microSD partition (f2fs, ext2/3/4 should be supported) - Emerging big stuff will fail with obscure "internal compiler error"s... Plug an external USB hard driver and create at lease 4gb of swap there. - root user password is "gentoo" - default user is called "user" and password is "user" X will start automatically with auto-login for "user". Installed software: - Libre Office - Chromium - The Gimp - Inkscape - Digikam - Sane / XSane - Qt5 toolchain with QtCreator and the works - FreeCiv - LBreakout - Frozen Bubble 2 - Atomic Tanks - Digger - Battle For Wesnoth (very fast) - Conky - Bluetooth with blueman - mplayer and gnome-mplayer - lx-music - Marble (EGL accelerated?) - Dillo - Gftp - VNC Viewer - LxQT - The Qas (Qt ALSA) tools - Network Manager And other minor stuff. Audio works great, and so detach / rettach keyboard dock works too. ================================================= POWER SAVING AND XSCREENSAVER Do not enable it (X does not come back to life one in three times) NOTE: if the screen blanks, to unblank you need to push the power button! ================================================= KNOWN ISSUES - Some times locking and unlocking the screen fast will give you a black screen. Just lock again and then unlock, but not so fast. ================================================= Changelog 3.0 - November 2015 - Added Digikam - Emerge synched at october 2015 - Latest LibreOffice - Upgraded Lxde to LxQT 2.0 - August 2015 - Remove Firefox (unusable) - Recompiled with full neon support - Sound is now working - Bletooth kinda working (to be tested more) - emerge-synched to june 2015 1.0 - May 2015 - initial release
